Share Your World – Week 49
Cee is asking four questions again this week and my answers are in blue:
- What is the most incredible natural venue that you’ve ever seen in person? The Perseid Meteor showers during August when we lived in Colorado.
- What as your favorite food as a child? Do you eat it now? I loved to eat creamed corn at my grandmother’s house. Now I love to eat corn chowder the way my wife prepares it.
- Would you travel into outer space? If I could take a camera along, of course!
- Tell how you are feeling today in the form of a weather report. (For example, partly cloudy, sunny with a chance for showers, etc.) Partly cloudy with a chance of pain (I had some skin cancer removed from my face this morning).
Share Your World – Week 47
Cee is back again this week with her list of four questions. This is my NaNoWriMo warmup for today:
- Would you accept $10,000 to shave your head and continue your normal activities without a hat or wig while not explaining the reason for your haircut?
- Which of the following restrictions could you best tolerate: leaving your country permanently, or never leaving the state or area in which you live now?
- If you had to spend one weekend alone in a single store but could remove nothing, which store would you pick?
- If you could have a servant come to your house every day for one hour, what would you have them do?
My answers are as follows:
- Would you accept $10,000 to shave your head and continue your normal activities without a hat or wig while not explaining the reason for your haircut? Yes, I am already into it for about $2,500.
- Which of the following restrictions could you best tolerate: leaving your country permanently, or never leaving the state or area in which you live now? The latter, never leaving this state or area that I am living in now. I am blessed to be living in Northern California and the mountains, forests and coastal waters are magnificent.
- If you had to spend one weekend alone in a single store but could remove nothing, which store would you pick? A no-brainer, The Apple Store.
- If you could have a servant come to your house every day for one hour, what would you have them do? Help me straighten up my mess under the house.

Sharing My World
Answering Cee’s questions today will be a warmup to my NaNoWriMo installment. The questions are:
- Do you prefer eating the frosting of the cake or the cupcake first?
- What is your favorite cheese?
- What is your biggest fear or phobia? (no photos please)
- Would you dare to sleep in haunted house overnight?
My answers are:
- Do you prefer eating the frosting of the cake or the cupcake first? I like to plow through both at the same time by eating from one side to the other.
- What is your favorite cheese? Mizithra (a Greek hard cheese).
- What is your biggest fear or phobia? Small enclosed spaces.
- Would you dare to sleep in haunted house overnight? I don’t know how much sleep I would get, but I would give it a shot.

I am still procrastinating about writing my daily allotment of words in the NaNoWriMo Challenge, so I am going to answer 4 questions that Cee has posted on her blog:
- How many rings before you answer the telephone?
- If you were to be on a reality TV show which one would you be on and why?
- What’s your middle name? Why?
- Is the glass half empty or half full? What is in the glass?
My answers:
- How many rings before you answer the telephone? A minimum of two. I got into the habit at work and it has carried over into my home life.
- If you were to be on a reality TV show which one would you be on and why? I would choose Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe because he treats his guests with respect and a healthy dose of humor. My second choice would be Deadliest Catch just because it is the most difficult one out there.
- What’s your middle name? Why? My middle name is George, my father’s first name.
- Is the glass half empty or half full? What is in the glass? The glass is twice as big as it needs to be and full of water, no ice.

Reblogged from The Better Man Project:
In high school, I visited USC for a pitching training camp and learned one of the greatest lessons I would ever learn. My coach, the best pitching coach I ever had, stood next to me and talked to me about something I would never forget. After a full bullpen session, he looked at me and said,
“Evan, 10% of the time you are going to be terrible.
