This week, “F” is for Fake. That’s right, like Orson Welles before me, what you see is not what you see at all. Enjoy.
I am only showing a portion of John Pugh’s mural on the back side of the Del Oro Theater in Grass Valley, California. At first glance you see a Utility worker reading an electric meter, when in fact it is just an illusion as the side view attests. I think that the shadow of the existing awning ‘sells’ the illusion as it falls across the ‘meter’.
I took these photos with my iPhone 5 and made edits in Snapseed.

Wow, That’s a pretty cool optical illusion.
Nicely done,
Bill
He is certainly a talented artist.
As are you.
Nice electrical theme to boot…
It is a recurring theme, isn’t it?
Yes, like chocolate is in mine…
If we could find a chocolate light bulb we would both be happy.
Now I’m going to have to look…
I don’t know which I like more, the illusion or your pictures. Both equally I think. Very nice job.
Thanks, Valentine. The mural is very impressive in person.
… and though you can’t see electricity – ampere are not a fake …
